i'm trying to flash my bios with a 512 4977 bios on bank 1 of my x2 lite but flashx just freezes!! please help

Usually that happens to a 1.1 xbox b/c there is a bug in flashx that causes it to freeze. But yea, try flashing thro evox

with evox can i still flash separate banks? i want to split it so i can put a vga bios on one bank and 4977 on the other, or is there a better way?

There are two options for you...You can use FlashX but you have been having problems with it. That would be my first choice. But you can also you ozx flash in addition to a banking program that will allow you to split them up. I will do some reasearch to see if evox will flash half and half im not sure.

would i be able to use a banking program and ozxflash without cromwell? i was under the impression that ozxflash only worked with cromwell.

Heres a better idead use a banking program to give you a 1mb bios with the 2 bioses you want on there. Then just flash it with evox or anything else. Im not totaly sure if ozx only work with cromwell but the only tim e ive used it was with cromwell so i would just use the banking program and anything else. But if ozx isnt only for cromwell then i would use the banking and ozx or flashx.

Ive been reasearching a little...heres my updated opinion. I think you should goto #xbins and download the latest version of FlashX. Remove your other copy and then re-install the new one. Make sure your flah jumpers are removed because i have don that loads of times. Then use a cbaking program to make the half and half and flash your chip with flashx. It will be the easiest way. I have a felling that if you reinstall and run it it will work fine. Let me know so ican givee you more help if it doesnt work.

what kind of banking program should i use? and do i have to split it up with a program first and then use flashx? cause that might be the problem and i am using the latest flashx

I was having the same problem with my X2 pro. What I have to do is turn the mod switch OFF after loading flashx but before flashing. Also, make sure the flash protection is off. If that doesnt work, use a banking program to combine the two bioses into 1 512k bios, and flash it using evox.
