I thought I read somewhere that a bios with built in ftp support was in the works. I can't find anything on it now though, so maybe I was mistaken. Anyone know if there is a bios with ftp support in the works?

Rumor is the new X3 BIOSES will have it...but I won't place too much hope it in.

if it used resources, then it would be nice the have the ability to turn it off and on by pressing some trigger or something on boot... simliar to the way a computer lets you configure its bios on boot

Like shanafan said, it is a rumor, but don't expect it anytime soon. It is hard to even fit an ftp application in 1mb of space. From what I've heard, ubergeek isn't too willing to give out info on the x3 bios/chip as of now. Don't get your hopes up.

Not for long....

BIOS Loader solves that problem, it's just a matter of adapting future BIOSes to use with it.
