Can i use the SAMSUNG SD-616EEB as an XBOX DVD Drive replacement?

I read the FAQ where it says NO, but does anybody knows if it is a hardware problem if it just because you can't update the 605b firmware to this drive.

For the reason that you can update to this firmware is it a limitation from the flashing tool or the drive just can't work with this firmware?
