Does Xbtool Bunk Up Bioses?

change the colors of an unmodded bios. if you are changing it anyway, why mod a modded bios. start fresh and you can be sure that if there is a problem, its because you did something wrong. Honestly though, using xbtool is easy.

ya i never said it wasnt easy to use, it just seems that when ever I was getting an error 21 with the superfro error screen, was after i changed the color in xbtool. Also dont get me wrong, xbtool has changed plenty of bios colors for me also with no problems, just wondering if this problem is unheard of.

I really don't understand why you'd have this problem. I just took 4977, changed my colors in XBTool (latest), and flashed to my X2 Pro without a hitch.

It's important to start with a clean version of the BIOS and generate the proper sized file, as well as understand your flashing procedure.

If you have a chip with more than one bank like the x2 I would bank flash the chip.  This way if for some reason xbtool screwed up your bios or anything else screwy happened to it you still have a backup bank to boot off of.
