I soldered everything fine ...it turned out that i had to buy the programmer and that fixed it...plus tossing in a new hdd.

i might be a bit late with the reply. if your friend has a mod chip put his in then turn on the xbox till evox comes on. u will have to leave the case off and the hd and dvd drive hanging out but still connected. then simply put your chip back in and reflash it.
