Programmer Sync 7 Error

when i type in any command i always get a sync 7 error.  When i type in "x2cable w bios.bin"  it goes on forever.  i dont know what to do and i really want to get this working so i can use my xbox again.  thanks!

Your cable connecting to your PC port is too long. Connect the programmer directly to your port and try that

i did that is how i am doing it...... i dont have acable so i took off the standoffs and am doing a direct connect to the printer port on my PC.  i dont use that printer port for anything else do i have to prepare it somehow, like make it active or something i dunno i'm just throwing ideas out.... thanks for responding though any help at all would be great

ok, even when i take the programmer off completely or never put it in i get the same error.... just wanted to update you guys

Do you have the flash jumper in the enabled or removed position?

it's removed... it seems like it's not even detecting it being plugged in.... i've read other people having this problem but i haven't heard of any solutions.  except i heard one person say that they used x2pro to flash theirs after a sync 7 error and it worked.  does anyone know how to use that program?  i downloaded it, it's only one dos file and i dont inderstand the directions.... can anyone help at all with either of my problems??? thanks a lot
