This is exactly what i did, except my xbox after going from D6 to 4976.02 will hang after displaying the X and showing Xecuter2 at bottom of screen.  If I then eject the drive it will soft reset and then load up to the dash just fine.   Again, all worked perfectly with D6, no other changes but the bios.
If i left the network cable unplugged i would NOT get the hang.  This isn't acceptable to me cause i need the network cable in and it worked with D6 so...
I loaded 4976.02_red_noani (color didn't matter) and now that boots just fine like when i had D6 on.

Few questions:  (possibly for Ubergeek):
Does the noani change or affect in any way the way the xbox loads its networking stack?  It seems like if the network can come "up" before or during the logo screen it will then load the dash, otherwise it just sits there (waiting for the net to initialize?).

The other thing i was going to try is to take my 3285 exox to the 3752.  In the 3752 evox.ini there were two extra lines in the network section that i don't have in my .ini with 3285 and they are

CODE

SkipIfNoLink = No SetupDelay = 10

I was thinking if these values were messed with it would get it to work.  But right now my problem is resolved with the red noani bios so i don't want to go messing with the dash just yet (and i read about bugs with it anyway)

I know MsSplitch had same issue so if can confirm same fix??

i got mine from there also having a similar problem related to network cables but it freezes in game not in the dashboard.

im going to try the color bios later as when i do not plug the network cable in it never ever locks up.

you know... i got my normal 4976 from xbins but no colors were there... i found the color bios on a site but now i cant find it again... but it works so i dont care.

no.  i tried red_noani yellow_noani drblue_noani orange, purple and silver.
all named 4976.02_<color>_Noani_256k.bin
