Before a week i modded my XBOX with Xenium modchip.

It worked perfect for a week until my brother decided to TWEAK the Philips DVD Rom drive according to a tutorial he found on the XBOX scene (how to tweak your Philips drive).

He opened the Philips drive and he tried to adjust the position of the resistor(?) which has something to do with the laser of the dvd drive as i think.

Even he marked the original position after that the dvd drive failed to read DVD's and only read CD-R / CD-RW. After a while of tweaking to find the first position the drive failed to load any CD/DVD. (i think it's dead)

So this tutorial : "Xbox pot tweaking tutorial for Philips drive" fucked up my XBOX drive.

I'm not sure if it was the tutorial or my brother but if you are not an expert don't try it.

As you know you can't buy an original XBOX DVD Drive again and even if you have a friend in MS it's not worthy because here in greece it costs about 130 euros by the time a new xbox with two pad's and two games costs 160 euros.

Now i followed the instructions from the tutorial : "Connect a normal PC DVD-drive on your Xbox" and i installed my old ASUS PC DVD drive and it can't read CD-R/CD-RW, it can read copied XBOX games and DVD Movies but it can't read Original XBOX games.

So i have to find a way to replace the bad Philips Drive.

I read many articles and tutorials and i found the solution to the Samsung SD-616T or F replacement.

The problem is that i can't find it in Greece.

But i've found the SAMSUNG SD-616EEB

And the question is.....

-> Shoul i buy it ?
-> Will it work ?

Everybody say not to buy the SD-616Q but nobody mention about the SD-616EEB..
