Overheating
« on: February 27, 2004, 04:10:00 PM »

I installed a mod chip and booted EvoX. I was FTPing into it and the light started flashed orange (which if I am correct means overheating). I turned my mod chip off and started to play a game but it still overheats??

go into evox and go to a dashboard w/ temps, or go into the settings menu. If i think i'm right, the xbox overheats when the cpu hits 160 degrees farenheit. see how much it is. then if that's good, make sure yur fan's blowing

Hope this helps,

many people make the mistake of breaking the fan wires when they go to put their dvd tray back in,  because the tray has alittle fin that comes close to where the fan plugs into the mobo,  so check it to make sure you didnt break one of the wires.

Amke sure the fan's blowing and if it is you may want to modify it to 12v.

Yeah, same happened to me.  Mine was overheating BAD, temps were over 90 Degrees CELCIUS!  Fixed, just had to solder the wires back.
