MS releasing a new BIOS isn't why you would update your mod chip.


The original Xbox BIOS still works fine for all games releasedfor the Xbox (originals).

What motivates people to upgrade their BIOSes are more hacks or enhancements in the BIOSes released by groups like Team Xecutor. These may or may not be based on the latest versions being flashed into Xbox systems by M$
