Flash 4976.02 Bios On X-ecuter2 Lite
« on: May 20, 2003, 04:34:00 PM »

Well when i did mine last week, I used xbtool saved it as a 1024k file and copied it to c:\bios then used evox and flashed it.

I had to remove the jumper first though.

Then when I had done it, I edited the colours and made it custom.

It is an easy way, just open the 256k bios with xbtool and save as a 1024k or 512k you can choose using the program what size you want to save it to.

Wich size is best to put on X-ecuter2 Lite mod also....

My friend it depends on what you are trying to do.

If you wish to flash the x2lite with the same bios in all 4 banks, place a 256k .bin file in c:bios and simply select FLASH BIOS in Evox dashboard menu.

You will be flashing the entire 1MB of the x2lite.

4 x 256k of the .bin image. The setting of the bios select jumper will have no affect since the same bios is in all 4 banks.

If you wish to select one of the two BIOS's loaded into each of x2lite's 512k banks, you will have to create the correct 1MB .bin file. 2x256k for first BIOS + 2x256k for second BIOS thus a 1MB .bin file.

If you wish to use 512k BIOSs then you can mix those too.

1x512k + 2x256k,
2x256k + 1x512k, or
2x512k

512k bios's have to start on an even 512k address.

You CANNOT use this combination :1x256K+1x512K+1x256K.

You could also use a single 1MB BIOS--1x1MB .bin. I don't think any 1MB BIOS's are available though.

So either a 256k .bin file or a 1MB .bin file can be uploaded to c:bios and used to flash the x2lite from the Evox dashboard.
