Help With Xbmp Networking

I have XBMP ver2.4 I installed everything using slayer's auto installer.  Is there a way to acces my music and stuff on my pc WITHOUT using a program such as relax.  if so what are the settings i need to do in config.xml to make it work.  Using windows XP.   Thanks.
