I have XBMP installed correctly. I am able to play videos and all. But I can't fast forward or go backwards. I push A to bring up the control panel, highlight the slider (which controls the time in Windows Media Player), and hold R (nothing happens) then L (nothing happens). Can anyone diagnose this problem?

u might have to edit your remote.xml
have a look with note pad.

otherwise try newer version or xbmc

I think this may be the problem...I've search all the folders and can't find a remote.xml. I have XBMP 2.4. Is that the latest version? Does that have remote.xml?

just had a look xbmp does not use a remote.xml only xbmc
try reinstalling it.
i would just put xbmc on the hdd
its alot better and u can edit all your remote fuctions in remote.xml
