hi people i have just orderd a 120GB hdd to replace the stock drive in my xbox and being that the stock drive is a 5400rpm and the new drive is a 7200rpm will i have any problems with heat in the box? if so how can i sort it.

If Your worried about Extra Heat, or just wanna make things cooler, u can do a 12v Fan Mod, they r Cheap 2 do, like $5 CDN, go 2 www.llamma.com an they'll sell u a power cable adaptor for the HDD, then u plug ur stock case fan's power cable direct into that, that'll up the RPMs of your fan, might be noiser, but it will increase airflow an reduce temps inside the machine

You could run UnleashX and increase the fan speed, but I doubt that that's the route you would prefer to take.  I know I wouldn't.

you can do a few things to keep the temps low.  
1) use xbtool and configure your bios so that the fan runs faster
2) 12v fan mod.  cut black wire and solder to case.
3) New fan altogether.

This is a good and simple idea. The stock speed is only 20%, so you can easily increase the speed via the bios. I have mine at 80%, but that is too loud for some people. Even a setting of 40% will help cooling by a few degrees.
