Size Limit With Divix?
« on: April 12, 2004, 04:57:00 AM »

I have been converting my DVD's to Divix files for playback on my Xbox via media player and I'm having a problem.  It seems that if my Divix file is larger then 2GB it won't play back over the Xbox.  The files are located on a pc and I am streaming the file to my Xbox and it works fine for MPEG2 files larger then 2GB and Divix files less then 2GB but every Divix file that I try to play greater then 2GB just won't play.  I thought the problem might be a bad file, but the file will play on my PC just fine and I have multiple files greater then 2GB created from several DVD's and all of them will not play.

Has anyone else run accross this problem?  Any suggestions on a possible fix?

Thanks!!!

Size Limit With Divix?

hit the nail on the head.

2gb is a limit that XBMP has - XBMC has this issue fixed from my testing.

I still use XBMP myself and a way to get around this problem is to split the files using Nandub (see www.doom9.org). Doom9 also has a tutorial on how to use Nandub under the tuts section. I usually split any rips i do that are over 2gb into 1 gb files and use the title button to make a video playlist etc.
