Playing Hd-dvd Rips
« on: March 02, 2004, 08:03:00 AM »

Ok i have in my possesion a High Density DVD rip made for windows media player9, it a 4.5gb wma file and the picture quality is out of this world.  It makes dvd look like VHS!!!

I can watch this rip fine on my comp obviously with media player9, but i also have a HDTV and my xbox set up with relax for streaming media, however when i select the file in question it goes black for a sec then bumps me back to the media player screen.

I know my xbox media player is setup for use with 720p and since the file states that this movie is played in 720p 16X9 then i shouldnt have a problem, oh and yes my projector supports 720p and yes i do have the component cables needed and yes i have changed my eeprom to NTSC-M to enable all of my HDTV options.

I thought i was in for a treat when i got my hands on this file but unfortunatley not!

No matter XBMC plays the little sucka on my big screen at 720p, only problem is its running at around 8fps!!!!

Nice to see its supported and maybe it may run better on the 128mb box if i remove the memory flag!
