Relax Shares Stop Working When Viewed Once
« on: February 29, 2004, 11:06:00 AM »

Hey I have been having this problem and have seen other posts on there with no real fix. The thing is that my relax share will work fine at first. However if I go to tview the files that are being shared with relax then leave that directory and attempt to go back to it they don't show up. If I go back to my pc and restart relax they will show up again but not show up again. Its been bothering me and I would really like to figure out how to get it going ptoperly.

Thanks for the replys but I figured it out. I had it set like [email protected] and it would show the shares for my movies once but then they would not show up any more. It was odd but I then changed it to the exact path name of the directory being shared and it worked fine. So now in my config its like D:\media\[email protected]. This seems to work just fine now and I have been able to get relax set up as a service which seems pretty stable now. The way I have the whole thing set up almost makes the xbox seem like a tevo. I have an ati tv wonder ve on my pc which was like $40 and tv cable running to the pc. I can set this thing to record shows directly to my shared folder for relax. I then have my xbox in the living room connected to my tv and my network. So now I can set the pc to record what ever tv shows I want to see and stream it right out to the living room. I would love it if there was some way to get the xbox to do the recording itself. It would really be amazing if xbmp could find some way to implement it. I know there is an ati tv wonder card that is usb so what you could so is mod that plgu it into the controler port of the xbox and if xbmp could detect it and use that to record directly to the xbox harddrive it would be amazing and I would never ask anything more of the xbox scene.
