Xbmp Won't See Anything
« on: February 29, 2004, 06:45:00 AM »

I sucessfully installed EvoX with XBMP... I have this problem.  I have RelaX running on my PC, have all the settings correct, but when I go into XBMP, it can't see a damn thing.  It will show RELAX, Network, HDD, Playlists, etc. but when I click on them they do absolutely nothing.  Any Ideas?

I spent many hours getting this baby to fly, and she flies well.  Where to start?  Can you FTP into your XBox? [Y]
Have you modified your xbmp config.xml to reflect the IP of your PC running RelaX? [Y]
Are the <shares> defined adequately in the same file? [Y]

I had to painstakingly go through each of these to get it working.  Then end result was I could not re-enter a share unitl I discovered the $ROOT$ trick..

Let's suppose the following
RelaX server PC IP: 10.0.0.1
Xbox IP: 10.0.0.1
Relax share name: Videos

In XBMP's config.xml add the following into the <videos></videos> -tag

<share>
<name>Network (XNS)</name>
<url>[email protected]</url>
</share>

And that's it! You should be able to connect to RelaX from XBMP.

Good Luck
