System Hangs On Xbmp (and On Xbmc)
« on: March 02, 2004, 10:02:00 PM »

I had the exact same problem with XBMP, but mine occured after I changed a setting. It hung on me (at the evoX loading screen) and hasn't loaded since, even after transferring a new version of XBMP over. Everything else works immaculately.

This thread scares me. I just instlalled XBMP last night and ran it. i was surprised at how easy it was to it up with Relax. I tried it messed around with some settings and then I rebooted. Evox is my default dash and it would not load XBMP it would just hang as you described. The notes say to remove the shortcut file and everythign should work. I thought I might have correcpted the config.xml file so I pushed it over again and still had the same problem.

Can anyone give us some places to check? Man down.

Delete the shortcut file. Then remove the files from the oface007 folders in e:\udata and e:\tdata reboot and XBMP should load again

what do you mean by "shortcut file"? i've been having this same problem with xbmp. ethernet in usually means no go, occasionally it will work (so will relax). ethernet out and it always runs.

I don't think it's a problem with your BIOS, but rather in your XBMP configuarion,
you'll need to edit the config.xml file with a text editor.

Before that I would like you to do a little testing, try deplug your ethernet cable, then run XBMP again. It might not be a hang but rather a slow loading on the network configurations.

To fix this, set your network to static, then either configure your SMB right or simply clear it.
