How To Burn Avi/xvid To Dvd-r With Nero 6.3?
« on: February 01, 2004, 06:22:00 PM »

Well there are differences, although I don't know them off the top of my head.  Check the DVD/backup forum.  HSDEMONZ says that UDF burning is not 100% but that is all I use.  Basically you just want to burn a data disc, UDF style, and make sure the file names aren't too long.  Nothing special.  Some say to burn at a slower speed but I do it on max and my backups are fine.  Just make sure you do a disc-at-once burn and you'll be all good.
Tip:  You can name the files, for example, 'mydvdmoviebackup-CD1.avi' and 'mydvdmoviebackup-CD2.avi' and XBMP will automatically move from one half of the film to the next and only show it as one file in your browser.

I already wasted 2 DVD-Rs, hope it will work with your settings:

DATA-DVD, UDF(not UDF/ISO), DAO, 1x, no long file names

I've been burning as UDF/ISO and ticking the box for xbox compatability.
The first one worked as both a UDF and an ISO in Nero, as did the second... however one of them wouldn't work as a UDF only an ISO and most files wouldn't play... even though they worked fine on my PC... guess it's a bit dodgy.

UDF, DAO, 1x, "xbox compatibility" box checked

I'll try it at 2x...4x next time I have something to burn.

I burn all my divx's (usually 6 on one) using nero, I choose normal DVD iso and just drag and drop and burn movies.

Then I can play dvd direct in Xbox or By streaming from Pc using Relax

cheers
