Are you downloading the playlists from shoutcast or are you creating them yourself?

hey dude im having the same problem, but this is through a router without a PC ....i get the .pls files working on a PC however....

im not sure what ports need to be opened/forwarded from my router to make shoutcast work...my router is the D-Link 614+ wireless router....however im just using the lan and uplink ports on it at the moment...not the wireless part.

my router does have a firewall but i have let access to the WAN(internet)  and the LAN (my xbox) ...so im wondering if it needs a bios upgrade or something? i have d-Link 614+ bios 2.18 running at the moment...there are a few bios upgrades out there that support XBOX LIVE...do i need them?

thanks in advance

I've got the same router. Shoutcast works for me. Nothing is forwarded. No special ports for Shoutcast. Also I'm using 2.18 bios on it.
Everything is hardwired and I let the router set the ip for the xbox via DHCP.  I have had issues with the D-link 614+ and static ip addresses in the past with DHCP turned on (not with an xbox but a pc).

Are you using static addresses on your xbox?

Do you have some  filtering turned on on your router maybe?
(never mind you wouldn't be able to FTP)

If they work on the pc and not the xbox I suspect the XBMP settings. I suggest trying and different version of XBMP maybe.

Also note Shoutcast broadcasters change thier ip addresses a lot. If one .pls doesn't work another may work. If you open up a .pls file with a text editor (wordpad) it will usually have more than one ip listed for a broadcaster. The first on the list may be dead then the connection needs to timeout before it'll go on to the next one. A pc does the connection timeout thing faster (when using winamp) than the XBMP that may miss lead you a little giving the impression the .pls is working with a pc and not the xbox. Sometimes you gotta wait a minute. The timeout delay can be changed in the config.xml for XBMP. Obviously if you wait forever there is something else wrong.

Also where are you putting your .pls files? They need to go into the SHOUTcast directory in your XBMP not the playlist directory. I've messed around and done this the .pls will act like it starts and then lock up.
Also have your shares set up properly in your XBMP config.xml.

for example under the share for music:
     <share>
       <name>Internet Radio (SHOUTcast)</name>
       <url>f:\apps\xbmp\shoutcast</url>
       <cachesize>256</cachesize>
     </share>

Here my path to shoutcast is f:\apps\xbmp\shoutcast.

It needs to point to your shoutcast directory (where your .pls files are stored).
Later,
