Hey there,

after learning howto softmod an xbox tnx to this site i want something more special with my xbox. I want to create a USB port on the xbox. No i've read that you need to install linux on your xbox to use a mouse on that usb port. But with linux come some problems, right?. Same as you get when install linux on a normal pc? Things like certain programs won't work.
Now i wanna know if when i install linux, programs like dvd-player, mediaplayer, and boxporer will still work, and if i still can view all kinde video files.
And if anybody would be so kind to point me to a direction for a topic about installing linux, that would be great! (so plz do not point me to the search button! I tried that so many times to find out how to softmod and stuff. Before i tried a softmod i did more than 30 hours research! by searchin...)

and Windows CE !!!

It also works with a few driver mods on Duke nukem 3d

don't think so... you'll need an external apadter for that I think...

Original xbox games dont run under linux so installing linux wont do that. Get an adapter. BTW "installing" linux is like installing an app or game, it doesn't replace current software.

well, if linus is that easy to install i can gice it a try. But does it boot in linux than, or does it stil boot in my dash and i have to start-up linux.

with original games you mean all xboxgames, or games which are orignal and not putt on the HD or something

If your just looking to use the mouse to play games (FPS i assume) you might want to pick up on of these SmartJoy FRAG

Its the programming that matters, native xbox games will only run under native xbox programming  (XBE files etc).

If u boot linux (like you would with any app or game, it has an XBE bootloader you can select from the dashboard) u cant run normal xbox games from there.

Wanna play halo with a mouse for example pick up an adapter. U can use a mouse and keyboard in XBMC, linksbox and avalaunch (ava=keyboard only)
