Where Is The Evox.ini File Meant To Point To?

QUOTE
Hi, this is what I currenty have in my evox.ini file (I have trying to get xbmp running)

   Section "MediaPlayer"
   {
                #Item "Xbox Media Player","e:xbmpdefault.xbe"
   SortAll
  AutoAddItem "e:xbmp"
   }

the thing is, what is the actually path that is meant to go in there, I dont think :xbmpdefault.xbe" is correct. I created a directory called xbmp, and then unzipped all the xbmp files into this directory. Is there a specific file that the path is supposed to point to? Thanks a lot

It points to default.xbe.  I think you're missing some backslashes.  Try e:\xbmp\default.xbe.  Of course you need to remove that # too.

The hash (#) "comments" out that line, or makes it ignored.  If you don't have a default.xbe, you should.  I suggest you re-download xbmp.  In your menu, you should see "Xbox Media Player" written in white, not red - red means it can't find the default.xbe you're pointing to.

where can I get the most recent download and what is the name of the file.
I went here http://www.xboxmedia...nload_files.htm
but there are loads of different files on there, non clearly say xboxmediaplayer.

Under xbox media player, it says the binaries will not be released? Are binaries the compiled files?

This is where I went the first time to download the player: http://sourceforge.n...ojects/xbplayer
Now I just realised that this may be a precompiled version which is why I cant find the default.xbe. I this is so , do I need a special compiler program for the xbox and if so where can I get this?
thanks

where can I get it?
thanks

so this is ok as it? with both the item line and the autoadditem line?
Also what about the config.xml file. Do I just need to edit the <home> tag to the same path as whats in the evox.inin file?
Also I havnt actaully installed the Relax_075 program. Am I right by thinking I only need this if I want to share files. If I dont have it I should still be able to play media files from CDs right?

You don't really need the autoadd line, you're kind of doubling-up there.  You don't need to mess with config.xml (at least not as far as linking in evox is concerned).  You only need relaX if you want to stream stuff from your PC to xbmp, not if you're playing stuff locally.

Click here and go where it says under IRC.  You'll find directions to xbmp there.
