yeah, i agree that it looks really intereting. but from what i have seen you cannot use directv you have to use dish network because of the mpeg2 video format. it doesnt use the dvb signal or something like that...

But hey, if you can get dishnetwork free that is all good too isnt it?

I try It and it work like a charm! I can watch satelitte on my XBOX and even pause it! Can change chanel on the same transponder for now!

For hardware I use I twinhan 1020, work great and card price is very low for the result. I can decrypt encrypted chanel, witch is great :-)

i have done a little bit of studying and it looks like dishnetwork is a go but not directv  because of the type of format it is in.  looks like all the pci cards ard dvb which reads mpeg2 but directv is also decoded as mpeg2 jsut the sound isnt. something like that looking more into it but it looks really good.. just not sure how you can use alll the channels...

here is a link to the hardwhare that you need.  i know you can also get the info off xbox scene but here it is anyways.. have some more info too..

http://www.coolstf.com/

this next one ssays it can descramble directv.. we will see huh... not sure if you can use the ts reader softwhare with it though

Work fo Dish and BEV, don't work for direct tv ( They don't use DVB3 standard.) Work also for other international provider.

Yes you can see ALL the chanel PPV , Regular Etc... Noi need access card, just some software.

Go there to know how: http://forums.dvbnet...pic.php?t=16046

And you can Even Pause LIVE TV on your XBOX! Like TIVO!!! For now you can only change chanel on the same Transponder ( a average of 10 chanel by Transponder) But maybe in the future you wiull be able to change the transpoder on the PC via the XBOX soft...

i think it would be awesome if it would auto change the transponder would save some time that is for sure.

but this is definetly going somewhere.  Great way to get started and the best part is no hashing !  that is my prob now..

dave sucks! great channels though...  quit hashing me!

you can buy from them http://www.dvbmaster.com/ they are in canada

tsreader don't scan chanel, it chow you what is on the transpoder. But you have a chanel list witch tell you on with transpoder is the chanel. then you manualy change to this transpoder and media player see the chanel available for this transponder.

Good site for info http://forums.dvbnetwork.com

Other prog for PC scan chanel( PPV included), like ProgDVB and Mytheater

So you'll need a PC supporting the video right? You cannot get the XBOX to solely decrypt Satellite Video, The  twinhan 1020 is a PC Receiver. You can also buy a cheap IRD and use the plastic for dish.
