Pauses Between Tracks
« on: October 29, 2003, 07:45:00 AM »

I'm using XBMP 2.4 which still has this problem. Is there a CVS out there that has removed the pauses between CDDA and/or MP3 tracks? When you are listening to a 'mixed' disc this can be very annoying!

Has XBMC solved the problem? If so it will be worth getting even at this early stage...

Thanks in advance...

I saw an answer to a similar post saying that you have to use .CUE files, and that is the extent of their fix.  I know this is discussed more on the XBMP forums.

On another note, I also heard talk of XBMC implimenting a crossfader, and hopefully remove that silence or annoying pop/sound between tracks.  I think i only notice the pop inbetween songs it since it's heavily amplified in my truck..

.CUE is a start and helps with mp3s but to cdda

There must be a solution out there... I don't know of any PC media players that leave a significant pause between mp3 tracks and certainly not cdda so surely this should apply to xbox media apps?

I've noticed that the end of tracks are cut off, which is especially annoying when it's an album whose tracks blend together or have skits, like Eminem CD's do. Anyone know why this happens?

In config.xml, there is an item that relates to some kind of caching [I don't mean when setting up shares], which is set at 10. Maybe this item refers to caching music for a more streamless transition?
