i unlocked the hard drive on my friends xbox after we put evox on with the mechassault save and me being a dumbass decided to unlock his hd with configmagic ...so i could put it in my xbox just incase i messed up so when i reset his box it gave a error 5 ....then i tried to lock it with my xbox...put it back in his xbox and got error 6..now i feel like a complete idiot for not thinking before i unlocked his xbox knowing what would happen.....how do i set his hd up back for his xbox,... anybody?...

one more thing i backed up all his eeprom.bin, and hd lock key info with evox before i unlocked his xbox and copied it to my computer

make sure you have backups of both xbox eeproms,


hook up his drive to your pc,

boot into windows

get a program called liveinfo beta 2

get his eeprom.bin file

now load the eeprom.bin file into live info,  then at the bottom in the drop down menu select the hard drive that is his.


Live info will now tell you what the Hard drive password is, write it down ( make sure not to make any mistakes)


now you need a program called hdlock.exe  this program will allow you to relock the HD,

i believe theres a tutorial on the main site on how to unlock/lock your hard drives from your pc

you only have one other choice ( im assuming you have a modchip in your box
if not this wont work)

unlock your hd,

put in his hd, use config magic to update your system with his eeprom from the eeprom.bin that you saved of his box,

lock his drive,

take his drive out put it in his box make sure it works,

put your unlocked hd back in  your system, and update your eeprom back to its original before locking the drive.

thanks anyway for the help though.... i just  put his hd in my xbox ftp and loaded his original eeprom.bin that i made with evox  saved it and the locked it all with configmagic  now it works again
