Setup More Than One Share Per Type
« on: September 29, 2003, 02:08:00 PM »

Ok I've given up on ccxstream as I cant ever get it working and I can sometimes get relax working so now I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to have more than one relax share for each media type.  IE Several for Music and Several for Video.  Has anyone done this?  Can it be done by editing the config like this:

<share>
  <name>Network(XNS) Video1</name>
  <url>c:[email protected]</url>
  <cachesize>256</cachesize>
</share>

<share>
  <name>Network(XNS) Video2</name>
  <url>d:[email protected]</url>
  <cachesize>256</cachesize>
</share>

So that in XBMP under the video tab there would be two folders.  One with Video1 and one with Video2?  If this wouldnt work does ayone know another option?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Thats what I figured.  I tried it last night and it kind of worked.  I think I'm just having networking issues now though.  I set it up like this:

<share>
<name> C Drive</name>
<url>c:/mydocuments/[email protected]</url>
<cachesize>256</cachesize>
</share>

<share>
<name>D Drive</name>
<url>d:/mydocuments/[email protected]</url>
<cachesize>256</cachesize>
</share>

now I can go into each one and see the second layer folders but when I try to access them it freezes.  I thought it was having problems with subdirectories but when I put a file in the direct directory and tried to play the file it would freeze.  I dont know if it just doesnt like the shear size of the folders or what.  My shared D drive has like 60GB in it but the C only has about 1.5.  Anyone have any ideas?  Are there known cache size issues?

Now that you speak of it no I cant play anything from the hdd.  Well not in the media player anyway.  I'll have to try and update my evox.  The last time I did was about a month ago.  Hopefully this will resolve my problem.  Thanks for all the help, I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok it finally works after repeated attempts doing many things.  I think the updating of the dash is what finnaly did it.  Also I changed the cache level to 32.  On a wierd side note I ended up taking the share from the C drive out of the relax exe but left it in the ini and it still works.  Not quite sure how but oh well.  Thanks to everyone that helped.
