Thumbnails And Imdb

Can the thumbnail pic be in any image format then? Jpeg, PNG etc? I'm sure I read somewhere else that the thumbs should be in PNG format. I'm assuming (not checked) that IMDB has its covers as Jpegs.

Hello, I am using XBMP, and  I did a search on the forum before I posted this, and I have some *.avi's and when I bring up IMDB, and ask to create a thumb nothing happens.  I figured at first, I had to refresh or something so I did, nothing...

I also read on a post to check and make sure the thumbs directory was in it's proper place and everything was setup properly in the config.xml file.  I did.  

I still haven't been able to directly get an image from IMDB, I have instead created jpg's and renamed them to tbn, as per the 2.4 manual.  So, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do thumbnails work for Movies on Network Shares (Relax)? That is how I play all of my movies and I can't get any pics to come up on the IMDB screen when I know the movie has one  . Any help plz?


I'm not sure if they work on Network shares, but I see no reason why they wouldn't, and as far as IMDB, all I can say is that it's flaky and I never had a chance to get the thumbnail thingie to work.  I just copy a pic and rename it to *.tbn.
