.xmv Files?

i wanted to put the Halo demo movie off the offical xbox magizine disk on to my xbox's hd so i can show it to my friends easier but the file is a  .xmv and wheni  just put it into my movie folder like normal it didnt show up in my videos list in XBMP 2.4 (latest (i think) complex release version)... and i could put the whole cd on to my hd as i would a game but that would take up too much room...any ideas? and if not anychance that XBMP could get an update to play .xmv files?

y not just copy the demo disc thingy onto hdd with it so it acts like the disc itself.
might not work from hdd that way but never know

I copied the disk to my HD and it works fine.

Although if someone does know a way to get it to play through XBMP that would be a little more convienent.

As of right now there is nothing on the PC or XBOX that can view these files in and of itself.

well i did say that i could do taht in my original post..but i only havelike a few hundred mb's left on my 120 gig hd...so i was just looking for someother kind of fix...

Does anyone know of a converter?  I know that there is one that converts .sfd to .wmv, but is there one that would convert .xmv to .wmv?

Unfortunately there isn't a converter.  Although it would be ideal.  Part of the problem, is it requires the xdk to view the xmv file, and so a converter would have MS code in it and would be illegal to distribute.  

It is a simple matter of using xmvdecoder in the sdk to open a video and audio stream, then capturing the video and audio to an avi file.  I have looked into it, but lack some of the programing skills to pull it off.

Also, I would be hesitant to release the file because of the legal issues, but you never know, someone out will probably do it soon.
