Macos X -> Xbmp?

Instead of using samba i suggest you try xbms. Unforunately you can't share multiple dirs with different paths. For example, if you have your movies on ~/movies and your music on /volumes/musichd they both can't be shared. All you need to do is configure your xbms.conf file on your computer when you want to switch between the two. I personally have been very skeptical of samba on osx, never had much success with it.

I've setup samba successfully on my G4 to allow the xbox to access via samba. The next release of Mac OS X includes Samba 3, which seems to make things more reliable, but I found the trick (in addition to the smb.conf changes listed at www.xboxmediaplayer.de) was to use the url:  smb://:@WORKGROUP/computername/sharename

I also added name-based entries to my /etc/hosts file for each of the machines I wanted to access from the xbox, because xbmp won't talk to IP addresses, it wants names for samba servers. My Xbox is FRAG'ed at the moment, but once I fix it, I will post detailed instructions on setting this up properly.

Hmmm... I got Samba setup on my mac... but for some reason XBMP connects to the folders, and they are blank... any ideas?

Edit- It won't work under OS 10.3 sad.gif

In the 10-29 build, I saw AAC listed in the file types to recognize, but I don't actually have an AAC files to test...
