You need to change it back to default settings, then play your title,

If this doesn't work try changing screen defaults from pal 16:9 of pal 4:3

just see if those 2 things work, that it is the way I got mine too.

I had some problems with divx files as well.  It turns out mine was related to OpenDML:

im still a little new to the XBMP, but like a computer, couldnt the codecs be out of date, if they are, does anyone know a place to get updated ones for the XBMP?
