What are the command line options that you are passing to start ccxstream?

this is the batch file i was running on startup

cd
cd c:ccx
ccxstream.exe -l 192.168.1.2 -S mymusic=e:music -S videos=e:video

all the directories and filename are correct, as is the IP...still keep getting the error above though.

Why not try using Firedaemon and running Ccx as a service?  Maybe that will fix it?

lint,

It sounds like you are lusing a Windows machine, if so then try using ccxstream as:

ccxstream.exe -l 192.168.1.2 -r /cygdrive/e

change your config.xml to:

<share>
 <name>Network (XBMSP)</name>
 <url>xbmsp://192.168.1.2/video</url>
 <cachesize>8192</cachesize>
<share>

Check to see if it works.  If it works then the XBMP Manual is correct in this case.

i might as well end this thread so anyone else having this problem will know one possible solution.

its possible "you" (ie: me) never changed the ip in the config.xml file to the new ip you set on your nic card...

that fixed me right up. Sorry to bother everyone, thanks for the help :]
