New Dvd Drive
« on: February 26, 2004, 01:40:00 PM »

I wanted to know if there is any dvd drive I can swap without soldering.  If not is their anyway to fix the dirty disk errors.  I have read the tutorial on the pot tweak but I do not have a digital multimeter so I cannot do it.  I am thinking about putting the pc drive in in addition to the other drive but I want to have the xbox lid on and not just have a second drive floating around...I am thinking about that if their is no other solution....any suggestions to get the dirty disc errors to go away?  by the way its a modded console with a x-ecutioner 2.2 lite +

the only way to do a dvd swap without soldering is to use a drive from another xbox!

otherwise dirty disc errors could likley be too much useage of CDR or DVDRW crapping out the lazer, no real fix i'm afraid, even the pot tweak only lasts a short while defore the drive craps out

Just buy another stock dvd drive from someone off of ebay or the Buy/Sell forum.  No soldering involved if it is another stock drive.  Just plug and play.

I just bought a piece of shit drive from circuit city and put it in...I just  hate how I cannot rip original games.  It sucks....I assume there are no solutions to this problem.
