Dvd Troubles

hey

whenever i try to play a dvd through xbmp2.3 it takes me to the ms dashboard and informs me that i need to buy the remote kit as i dont have one

how would i fix this?

Or you can use dvd2xbox to rip the DVD to the HDD and then (with multi-stacking turned on) watch them in XBMP. Note: a DVD is roughly 9gb.

to get it to play dvds through dvdx rather than msdash you have to change the evox.ini in the top few lines so it says dvdplayer=e:appsdvdxdefault.xbe or something like that. follow the example of the audio player which points to msdash.

but i still want to fix this so i know that i can watch dvds on my monitor when i get my vga box for my xbox
because i have heard that dvd2x doesnt work on a monitor for some reason

is dvdx2 a progressive player?

yeah i know about the croma bug makes things look wank
is there away to fix it?

anyways i have dvdx2 on but im just trying out xbmp dvd capabilities to see how good it does

i saw this but didnt want to mess with it i guess this answered my problem
i thought that xbmp had their own dvd decoder thing whatever rather than using the dashboard or dvdx2

Yes....I ripped the dvd using dvddecrypter and burnt it with InstantCopy but it still goes to the evo dash...I will test it later with autoplay off and do some searching

i didnt know that i thought xbmp played retail dvdvs

also can anyone show me how to patch the dvdx2 so it will play progressively?

So  Torro where you successful in getting a non-retail dvd to play in xbmp and how did you do it. I am figuring that instead of setting the xml file to look for dvd2 ill just leave it blank or something.... but any advice is helpful
