Any Problems With Cvs 8/24/03?
« on: August 25, 2003, 04:21:00 PM »

Well I just installed it like so. Renamed the previous one to XBMP2 and then copied the new one over to XBMP. I didn't delete the system.bin or anything like that. Seems to run just fine.

The webserver is so cool. You can control XBMP through your PC.

The only problems are as far as I can tell with the webserver. The configure, dashboard and shutdown options don't do anything but cause XBMP to freeze. Other then that I works perfectly for me.

Yeah.  I'm just dumb on this one.  What exactly is a webserver and how do I use it?

Streaming an avi (xvid in this case) worked fine over my network using relax (XNS).

Must just be Samba. I no longer use it as Xport's emu's don't seem to work correctly with samba so I switched to Relax - for XBMP and Emus.

PS. This is on xbox 1.1, x2 4977, xbmp launched from EvoX

PS2. I did delete the System.bin file smile.gif

The "no picture" with AVIs problem is not related to XNS, SMB, etc. I get no picture (only sound) with AVIs played from my xbox HD. The AVIs all seem to be DIV3 (some are 16x16, some 8x8).

The movies play for a few seconds (sound only) then freeze xbmp, requiring a reboot of my xbox.

I also found that DVD movies wouldn't autoplay when inserted and also froze the xbox (requiring a reboot).

I am running xbmp (as dashboard) on a v1.2 xbox, with x2 lite (xecuter bios v4976).

Reverted to 7-19-03 build, AVIs and DVDs are working fine again.

The webserver is probably the most innovated improvement of the XBMP concept. Just imagine supervising your box with a WI-FI enabled PDA. Now this will surely make your friends dribble!

When the thumbnails are shown on the PDA, and settings can be controlled on the fly, it will surely outscore any fancy remotes...or even any "new-invented" EISA award winners !! No home multimedia systems can beat this feature today

Web Server

A web server serves web pages to clients across the Internet or an Intranet. The web server hosts the pages, scripts, programs, and multimedia files and serves them using HTTP, a protocol designed to send files to web browsers and other protocols.

I have a problem with 8-24 that makes it useless for me. I get no picture when streaming avi:s over network, this is tried on a large number of files; xvid, divx, all play with sound but no picture. Mpegs and asf:s etc play fine.

I don't know if it's related, but while the avi:s play, the time and total time both show 00:00:00 always, and there is no marker on the seek bar.

This is on xbox 1.0, D.6, xbmp installed as dashboard, streaming files using SMB, all settings identical to those I used with the 7-19 build, where avi:s worked correctly.

That’s exactly what’s happening to me except I'm using relax. I wonder whats going on...

No, this is definitely a problem on NTSC too. I have an NTSC 4:3 TV.

trevenc ---> http://your_XBOX_ip/xbmp. Not your computor ip. Also set webserver to true in the config.xml

And the no video on divx seams to be related to undeleted system.bin files or multiple xbmp installs.

Delete the whole e:tdataface007 folder and calibrate the screen.
