Not to hijack this thread, but along the same lines...

Has anyone gotten the SMB connection to work when the server is a Linux/FreeBSD machine running Samba?  I've been unable to get the XBMP to actually connect, but if I share a drive on a Windows machine it works fine.  Obviously, I have the Samba set-up at least mostly correctly since I use it to share files with all the machines in my house.

Yup Jaydee - that worked great- thanks again!  Hey, does anyone know why streaming would be handy?  I guess if all my mp3's werent full albums with built in M3u's I would need streaming....but why not build a playlist with the m3u's??
