Exactly What Files Are Needed

I downloaded xmp_2.4_cvs_compile_xbins_6-14-03.rar and also xmp_2.3_cvs_compile_xbins_4-11-03.rar ( I know they arent used together).  

But when I read the "10 steps........" , it has another file "cpx-xbmp23.rar".  What exactly are the files for, are they both needed to get it running or is the "cpx" file an addition.
