Make sure your firewall allows NAT and all connections from IMDb.com.

Posters etc work perfectly fine smile.gif

Well the thing is that I get the IMDB page. It tells me everything like it used to but I dont get the poster.

My router with built-in firewall works like a charm.

Sorry to say but there is still something wrong @ your end.

Try connecting when firewall is off...

Jaydee:

Is there a port or something that I have to open on my firewall or? The IMDB feature works and the Xbos can go online but the picture is missing. It works on XBMP 2.3. That´s the odd thing.

xyberguy:

Just press the white button on your joystick when the movie folder is highlighted or the INFO button if you have the DVD remote.

I seem to be have the same problem, only thing strange in my case, is that i dont run a nat, or firewall. I simply use a nic for my xbox to share my dsl connection, Which i dont think its doing too well.

Same problem here!! And I also won't get any thumbs from Relax (maybe the guys with this problem can check). But with a 2.3 build everything works fine.

OK, I found a solution for my thumbnail problem and would like to see if it works for you guys also!

I assume you are using 2.4 and that your thumbnail/imdb etc. folders are in your xbmp folder and the config.xml points to that folder like this...

Your folder is e:\apps\xbmp\thumbs

and the link in config.xml is

<thumbnails>$HOME\thumbs</thumbnails>  or
<thumbnails>e:\apps\xbmp\thumbs</thumbnails> fo the build before this one...

And the same for your imdb folder...

Now what I did is created and thumbs folder, imbd folder (and I did it for all the others..) on f:  and changed the tags in my config.xml, like this:

I made f:\thumbs

and changed my tag to

<thumbnails>f:\thumbs</thumbnails>

And the same for the IMDB folder..

And now all my thumbs show up in relax again, my imdb posters show up and I can make thumbs out of those again also!!!!

Please let me know if this works for you also guys!!!!

@JayDee

I really respect all the work you do here and the time you put into it, but you are not all knowing. So if you can't reproduce an error or don't know the answer to a question is it so hard to say "I don't know", now you are pointing to places the error isn't in, even if people tell you it worked ok with older builds, they don't even have NAT etc.
Again I'm not pissing on you but it's ok not to know everything...

I am not all knowing in any way....

But i have put more time into bug testing xbmp then most people have had using it.
(I am a beta tester and techsupport mod on the official xbmp forums for the XBMP team just to clear that up)

And having ICS/NAT no configured can and will give you this exact error, so what is wrong with pointing out that it is worth trying with the firewall off...
(As i know the IMDb feature is working 100% when configured correctly)

And flaming will not be tolerated from anyone in this forum wink.gif

As you all might see i have Moderator powers in this forum, but i hope i wont have to use them very often.

Hopefully i will just have to use it to delete a doublepost or pin/close a topic and thats it smile.gif

As I said I'm not pissing on you, but sometimes there are more solutions to a problem and you are pretty persistant on the things that might cause them :-)  I'm like that too (takes one to know one).  biggrin.gif

Anyway on the solution that works for me know...

We had a sort of the same problem before with these <directory> tabs, remember the Stand Alone not working (or taking ages to start).  That was 2.2 to 2.3.
Now I have aproblem with 2.3 to 2.4 for my hdd version, there is something in these directory pointers that doesn't go right somewhere...

When I pop in a DVD with tbn's on it no problem, file shows up with thumbnails, then when I look in my thumbnail folder (everything points to the right location) no thumbs there, IMDB, no thumbs and only half the info. I can see relax sending the tbn's but they won't show up... Now that is strange...  And it all used to work in 2.3...
Than I change the folders, don't use the default ones, and it works.

So could it be, that there is something wrong somewhere with those tags?!?

Very curious about the results of the others with the same problem!

what about the features that don't work?

the generate thumbnail feature has never worked, but i noticed it does save the images of the poster on the hard-drive.

will this feature ever work?

Generate thumbnails work fine.

Check path to thumbnails folder in config.xml

folder MUST exist for it to work (xbmp dont creat one if it dont exist or path is wrong....)
