Ip Forwarding To Xbox With 2 Nics And Xbmp

Its possible but highly difficult and I dont recommend it.  Just get a 4 port hub or something and skip the 2 nic thing.  If you have a router that has more than one port even better.  If not you need a hub.

how does a hub work exactly?

i know a router assigns ip's like 192.168.1.*.

would the hub assign another wan address to the xbox...not a local address like 192.168.1.*?

No, a hub does not have an ip.  It is just a device to allow you to build a network.  It does not do anything to your ips it just relays transmissons to all the devices that are connected to it.

So do you have a hub or a router?

When you mentioned router in your initial post did you actually just mean an ordinary adsl or cable modem?

Ah I see. I presume your router is assigning ip's for all the computers and you are setting an ip for the xbox manually. And all the computer's and the xbox have ip's all in the same range with the same subnet and everything? If so can you ping your xbox from any of the other computers plugged into the router? Not including the one with the 2 nics in?
