Extracting Game Save Files
« on: October 26, 2004, 02:55:00 AM »

As you all might know, Rallisport Challenge does not support memory packs for
saving game progressions.
So, how would I go about transfering these Rallisport Challenge game saves from
an unmodded xbox to a modded xbox?

What would be the easiest way to do this?

there wouldnt be one. since as you stated you cant copy the game save onto a memory card. You cant do it. If unsigned, you could exploite crack the box (007) then get a ftp application loaded.

So basiclly what your saying is I need both xbox's modded to do file transfers.
Or, take my mod chip out and put it in the other box, then unlock that drive so
it can be FTP'ed into a PC.  Right?

You don't need to mess with your HDs at all.  All SGM was trying to say is that if you can exploit/softmod your box(es), then you can get a dash on to them and FTP into to grab the files manually from the E: Drive where they're stored, or use XBOX Saves Manager to move them.

BUT, (and I don't know if this is the case), if that game is like Burnout 3 and is signed to your HD, you'll have to find a work around to get it to work on a different HD.  Reason being, that MS didn't want people just downloading 100% save games and then going on LIVE and kicking ass with them.  So the gamesaves get signed to the HD they were first created on, and when transfered to a different HD the come up as "Save/profile Corrupted".  There's a work around for those games (Burnout 2/3, Ninja Gaiden, though that one's a bitch), though.

But maybe RS isn't signed like that.  But the fact that it doesn't support memory card copying is usually a tell-tale sign...

But my RSC game (the 1st one) is NOT xbox live supported so why would
little Bill NOT make it memory pack supported?
I think this game was out before xbox live went online.

What's the best and easiest tutorial for soft modding so I can FTP?

Thanks,

has nothing to do with bill... i doubt they ask his approval on game signing for xbox game saves.

call up the 1800xbox number and complain... there isnt much else you can do. some game allow it some dont. msft isnt the only ones who stop it. look at BO3 just the dev thing i agree is BS but cant really do anythign other then try and hack it.

This is the easiest one I have seen, and it works on all versions of NTSC boxes (for other versions of xbox you need to edit the eeprom, which is another tut all together....).
