QUOTE (reli @ Jun 14 2003, 11:53 AM)
soory, i should have been more prexise
the halo 2 video that i was trying to watch is not the quictime version but the windows media player (.wmv)

not even this one works, wich is kind of odd.

any ideas guys?

I have problems with some wmv files not playing. I have not figured out the differences between the ones that do and the ones they dont. At first I thought it was Windows Media 9 encoding but even after placing the appropriate media 9 dll files in the dll folder, the same videos will not play. I have posted to the XBMP forum but no answer yet. If I hear something I will post it here.

ok to get wmv to mpg

use TMPGenc its easy to use for tutorials go here http://www.vcdhelp.com

for .mov to mpg you need to use tmpgenc and a template for it which can be found at http://www.vcdhelp.com

QUOTE (Merc One @ Jun 14 2003, 03:59 PM)
Is this Halo 2 vid available on a web site or is it strictly underground?

http://www.bungie.ne...e=H2E32003Video

i got my wmv copy (158mb) through a link on the halo.bungie.org page (o1.com's http link)

havent tried it on xbmp yet but once i do, if i have any luck ill report back here

edit:
just finished watching it on xbmp, it was a little choppy in parts and the audio was out of sync (i decided on a +300ms av delay after messing with it for a while) i dont think i did anything special to get it to play back, none of you guys can play it at all?

some more info that might help out:
i renamed it from "halo2_e3_realtimedemo_hires.wmv" to "halo2_e3_hires.wmv"
used gdfimage to make an iso, nero to burn, boxplorer to copy to xbox hdd
used xbmp v2.3 b 4-14-03 (from slayers 2.1 auto installer)
latest evox dash/x2 bios (evox igr=off/x2 igr=on)

I have the latest 2.4 CVS and the wmv9-video is working for me. A bit choppy sometimes but it's OK.

Hate to burst the bubble but TMPGenc cant convert MWV9 files. I've also tried STOIK Video Converter which also refuses to load up the halo 2.wmv as an input file.

if you dont have codecs to play it it wont encode

download and install the nimo codec pack then try encode wmv to mpg

heres a tutorial on how

QUOTE (Drewus @ Jun 15 2003, 05:36 AM)
also, could you go into you're xbmp directory (xbmp version 2.3), then into the DLL directory, read the readme.txt file that is in there and tell me which .dll files are listed, and what versions they are?

QUOTE
Put supported DLL files in this ("dll") folder
Get dll's for here: http://www1.mplayerh...eleases/codecs/

Currently (22/01-2003) only these DLL's are supported:

wma9dmod.dll   (File version: 9.0.0.2926)   409,720 bytes
wmadmod.dll   (File version: 9.0.0.2926)   410,216 bytes
wmspdmod.dll   (File version: 9.0.0.2926)   486,504 bytes
wmv9dmod.dll   (File version: 9.0.0.2926)   807,032 bytes
wmvdmod.dll   (File version: 9.0.0.2926)   807,528 bytes

i dont think ill be trying a 2.4 cvs because its usually not a good idea to fix stuff thats not broken tongue.gif also bateman says its working for him on the latest cvs so if someone already has it going on there then theres not much of a reason for me to try it, but if theres any other info/etc that i can give that might help then lmk where to find it and ill post it here beerchug.gif
