Can't Ftp Into The Box After Making Xbmp My Dash

The default credentials for XBMP are . . . Username=xbox there is no password.

See here on how to configure . . .

http://forums.xbox-s...ST&f=33&t=36642

If that fails . . .

You just need a bootable copy of Evolution-X.  Configure the evox.ini with the correct IP details.  Boot of the disk and make the changes you need to.

When running evox from CD / DVD evoxdash.xbe needs to be named default.xbe.

re-flashing BIOS will not solve your problem.

Without the hometag set to the right folder/path, xbmp wont know what folder the filezilla server.xml is located in and thus it will not be able to validate the login/password.

It´s like calling someone that blocks all incoming calls exept the ones on a special list, and if that list cant be found it wont let any caller connect. (dumb explaination but the best i could think up right now)

Point is, set the <home>pathtoxbmp</home> right and you will be able to login.

can you suggest a good tutorial on setting up XBMP as the dashboard. I've read the manual and the xmbp.de site, but it's alittle confusing.

The dashsetup on xbmp.de is a good explaination of how to carry out setting up XBMP as your dashboard.

What part of the guide do you find confusing?  Maybe I could help clear it up  wink.gif

Edit . . .

All the tutorial tells you to do is edit the XBOX Media Player.cut to where you have
copied your XBMP files to.

If your BIOS has been written to look for a boot file that resides on C: then thats where you place the XBOX Media Player.cut file along with a copy of the XBMP default.xbe.

It is necessary to rename the default.xbe to a name that will be recognised by your BIOS.

i.e. XBMP default.xbe gets renamed to evoxdash.xbe because a homebrew BIOS looks for a file called evoxdash.xbe.  If you rename it to spaceman.xbe then the xbox would not boot!!

If you know your xbox is currently booting evoxdash.xbe from C: then rename evoxdash.xbe to something like . . . this-is-evox-V1.8.3285.xbe (this is just so you can go back to evox if XBMP dash is not for you - you just rename the files back!)

Then copy the edited XBOX Media Player.cut to C: and rename default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe (which is really XBMP)

Reboot xbox!

you will be fine as you have a bootable cp of evox on CD /DVD to right any wrongs  wink.gif
