XIR Remote

http://nicolas.cx/gr...xir/default.asp

Hardware addon that allows remote on and off of xbox.

It rocks my world!

I have a universal remote with a macro that turns on my xbox, tv, sets the AV input, turns on the amp, sets the audio input all with one press. A longer press turns it all off again!

And the IR reciver works with most RCA or Mircsoft universal codes, so you don't have to deal with another remote.

laugh.gif I agree.  It's not worth an extra 22 bucks to mod my DVD remote so I can turn it off.  I can do it from my dashboard anyway!

So I say get off your fat arses as well!

I picked it up last night as I should be getting my mod installed this week. I was able to program my One For All Universal remote to control the xbox by setting one of my extra device keys to a RCA DVD player. The only buttons that I couldn't find on the One For All were buttons that did the function of the Display and Title function on the xbox remote, so I just set those two functions to two of the 4 learning keys on the remote. It felt weird to drop 30 bucks on what amounts to an IR reciever but hey I'm sure it'll work well for me.
