Removing Network Cable Solves Problem

i have my xbox running evo-x as the dash and use xbmp with the network cable just fine...

i dont know if xbmp ever fixed the problem where the program would lockup if the network settings were wrong.  If not what i'm thinking is that xbmp might be configured wrong and its trying to find network connections (relax, samba, whatever) that don't exist.

Copy your .ini file into a reply and also give a little info about your internal network, like your pc's ip addres and xbox ip address.  Should be something like 196.168.1.*** or 192.168.0.*** unless you changed something.

also give a little info on how your network is setup.

ex:
Router connects to xbox and pc and internet...
internet connects to pc which connects to xbox...
pc connects to xbox using crossover cable...

Removing Network Cable Solves Problem

net work setup is like this:

adsl -> router(without switch cap.)-->switch,, and from the switch i've got one cable running to my pc and one to my xbox

internal ip's:

Pc: 10.0.0.150
Xbox: 10.0.0.13
Router(gateway??): 10.0.0.138

i've noticed that the standard ip settings are 192.168.blahblah but i've changed every ini (evox and xbmp) to the correct ip's (at least i think i did). If you'd like anymore info please ask
here's my evox.ini, i've downgrated to v3682 which i'm using at the moment (it doesn't solve the problem though)

Removing Network Cable Solves Problem

I had the same freeze problem at my Executer2 screen, just before evox loads.  I experienced this when I plugged the network cable in just as it was booting.  I thought that I had messed my box cuz I had just taken the hd out for some t-shooting(when I didn't really need to) but all I did to fix was reset a couple of times (with the network cable attached before the boot) and no more freeze.  Some insights.

If you're using a static IP, just take out the asterisks, and fill in your IP addys.

And even for my DHCP setup, I think I have 192.168.X.X in there, it's not just blank.

i'll have to check my .ini file when i get home, but shouldn't there be a "" backslash after the f:

ex:
f:musicshoutcast should be f:musicshoutcast

this would be the case for all of them.. if i'm not mistaken..
