There is a regionpatched msdashboard out there but i fail to see this having anything todo with xbox media player

Well, try the regionpatched dashboard and see if it works

AutoLaunchDVD = Yes
DVDPlayer = "c:\xboxdash.xbe"

Just put in the name of the patched dash instead of xboxdash.xbe

Just incase any one cares or happens to search for the same problem... the problem was in the ini file.

I had:

DVDPlayer = "c:xboxdash.xbe"

And it needed to be:

DVDPlayer = "c:xboxdash.xbe"

That fixed it right up.
