I followed some instructions as to getting files offsite (I don't think I"d be allowed to post the link here, because it describes locations as to where to get Evox and whatnot, ). Here's what I've done so far, pretty much in the exact order (I hope).

- Copied the Mechassault save to my memory card properly
- Start up Mechassault, and load the "Run Linux" save game
- Evo-X loads from the memcard. I use my computer to FTP into it.
- I copied Signed Phoenix v1.3 to C's root on the HD.
- I copied Evolution-X to C's root on the HD.
- I copied the Bert.xtf and Suffleupagus.xtf fonts to c:\fonts
- I renamed the two existing fonts to .xft

As far as I know, that's all I needed to do. However, when booting without a game, I got an error screen 21.

I took the default.xbe and evoxdash.xbe from the Phoenix and Evo-X installs and used the Eazsign files posted here to resign both files using the font hack, but still get error 21.

Anyone know what I can try to see if I can fix this? Would a listing if the directories and files on my xbox be useful?

Did you remember to downgrade your M$dash to 4920?

How would I go about doing that? Just find that dashboard and download it?

It is on slayers auto-installer 2.5 (not 2.6). Boot up the mech exploit, ftp in, and backup C & E drive. Then delete them, and replace them with the 4920 dash. Then put your exploit and all the other files and apps you want into the correct folders.
BEWARE!!! - You should probably return your xbox hdd to original state and check the kernal and dash version before doing this. Newer kernals do not allow you to down grade the dash and you will have to use a different exploit!

My kernel is 1.00.5101.1
My dash is 1.00.5960.1

Are those too new to try downgrading the dashboard?

I think that k5713 is the one that doesn't allow you to downgrade the dash, so you should be fine.

Should I install the entirety of the Slayers dash? Or just pick the 4920 dash out of it and install that alone?

If you are softmodding, just use the original c & e drives without evox files. It should be in the \system\all directory of the slayers package, but it might have been system\retail - I cann't remember (sorry). Again, remember to BACKUP c & e.
Also, xbins does not host a slayers auto-installer with the original m$dash files, so you will have to get it somewhere else.

The autoinstaller gives me an iso file- what should I do with it to get the files I need out? Daemon-tools and Isobuster have yielded no results.
