You need a port number after the ip address on the xns url line, something like

<url>c:mp3'[email protected]:1400</url>

Get the correct port number from the relax preferences. I'm not sure if apostropes are allowed in share names so that may need to be removed also.

What are you trying to watch?

Make sure the address under the corresponding name is correct:

Example:

If your PC IP address is: 192.168.0.10
and your movie folder (shared through relaX) is: C:\movies

Then your config file (under "movies") should look like:

 <share>
       <name>RelaX</name>
       <url>C:\[email protected]:1400</url>
       <cachesize>512</cachesize>

try this link . . .

http://homepage.ntlw.../xbmp_relax.pdf

here is my attempt at explaining relax and XBMP . . .

the relax share is a Network share defined as XNS . . .

<share>
       <name>Network (XNS)</name>
       <url>d:\stream\[email protected]</url>
       <cachesize>256</cachesize>
</share>

when setting up relax you create "shares" by dragging and dropping paths
from your PC i.e. right hand pane (in the relax program) to the left hand pane.

see a gif of my relax setup here . . .

user posted image

sometimes when relax is installed for the first time there are no shares defined in the
left hand pane.  simply create new ones ny right mouse click SHARES > add . . . rename them.

I have tended to keep them the same names as the default config.xml as the CVS releases keep on coming and it is easier to do this than keep on editing the config.xml to how i would like them to be named!!!

Each time you install a CVS release it is necessary to edit the config.xml again.  i.e. XNS for music, videos, pictures etc.

when exiting relax the configuration you drag and drop is saved to this file . . .

RelaX_Config.XML

i run relax as an XP service . . . this way when my PC starts relax is allready up and running  wink.gif

this is done by running . . .

c:\relax075\relax - install

rebbot PC afterwards.  you can see relax installed as a service by right mouse clicking
the My Computer icon > manage > services and applications  > services . . . locate relax

hope this helps in some way !!

beerchug.gif

edit . . .

new link!

I installed Relax as a service, and rebooted my computer.  When I look at my services, it says that relax is "starting", and it stays that way.  For some reason it isn't started.  Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong.  I followed the readme, and did the
c:relax075relax - install and rebooted, but for some reason the service isn't started, even after I clicked on the properties and clicked start.
