Yes this is possible, however xToolbox does not do encrypted dvd's. I have used it for regular unencrypted dvd's but could not get it to work for the usual encrypted dvd's.

The best i have used is CladDvd and then transfer the file. Wonder if it is possible to port it on XBOX

Use Gordians Knot and make near DVD quality avi's.
It will properly rip and encode the DVD for you.
Choose to encode to (3) disk's for file size.
Use a 704 x XXX resolution.
Skip the pre-encoding compression check.
Encode the Audio at 160Kb's.
Run both passes.
Will encode movie to less than 2 gigs in about 3 hours.
Save a lot of xbox hard drive space.

Sorry for the short repsonse.
The tutorial on the doom9.net website is excellent.

Every movie I have encoded has turned out fantastic.
Even super dark movies like Pitch Black.
