Config.xml
« on: April 17, 2003, 08:50:00 PM »

Ok here is my prob, I have installed all the files on my F: Drive and tried to set up the Config.XML file.  But I have no idea what is going on.  I have all the files in this Adresses

F:MediaPlayerOldXBMP

Can someone send me a config file so I can get this App to work.  you can just leave the IP config as default, cause I havent set up my Cat5 cable yet.  Still have to Put the connectors on the cable.  I will change this my self when I get the App up and running.  Also all my media will be shared at this addy with the folders set up like this

F:MediaMusic
F:MediaPics
F:MediaMovies

I really appreciate this favor if someone could take the time to make the config file for me.  Thanks in Advance to the one who does this for me.

The forward slash would appear in the text body so this is the main folder where the install files are

F:-mediaplayer-old-XBMP

And this is where I will be keeping all my media files

F:-media-music
F:-media-pics
F:-media-movies

Thankyou again for helping me, if it is possible, and the time.

Thanks guys for the support.  I know my post count isnt that high, but I have been a member for a while know, and I try and help people when I have an answer, and not try to get my post count up to 1,000,000 like alot of idiots on here, by posting negative stuff, or just saying stuff like Hmmm.  I know there is alot of good guys on here who also have a high post count and they do a good, job, pity there is those few spammers that just try and look intelegent by posting absolulty nothing positive to the thread.  Lucas must be another flammer from the ISONEWS groups.  I couldnt believe all the Flammers on that forum.  They must just love to flame on here cause they get beaten by there wives, and dont have anywhere to tunnel there anger.  Anyway thatnks to the guys who helped me with this prob.

layoff lucass, he's right...u'll never learn unless u do it urself....u just have to try it urself and see what happens....i wouldn't recommend this with evox and stuff like that unless u backed up ur hdd, but experimenting with xbmp won't mess up anything....

ok, so no one has ever helped you do anything.  Forums are created to help people with problems they are having and find solutions.  We are not almighty like you.  We must bow before this man, he is the Messiah of XBOX......  Bullsh*t.  If I knew how to do it, I wouldn't be asking for help.  when you want to add something productive to the forum, please do so, but if you havent got anything positive to say, shut the fu<k up.  Enough said

all i said was try to do it on ur own, is it that hard that u can't figure it out??/ and u probably haven't even tried that hard......a forum isn't a place for morons asking ppl to give the files, it's a place to learn how to dhings for urself....if someone just gives ur dumbass the file u'll be in here asking another stupid question a week later, but if u learn, what a concept, u can do it on ur own.....nuf said so stfu and quit complaining.

1: Install winrar
2: Right click the zip file and choose from the meny to extraxt to the filename folder
3: Ftp over all files to the xbox
4: Edit the config.xml/transfer your backed up config.xml over
5: Done

Now for the other debare in here!

90-95% of all the knowladge i have about the xbox and the apps i have learned by myself by reading tutorials, reading what other people have done and most importenly: i tried myself befor asking for help.

I can count the times i have needed help with things on one of my hands, all other things i have been able to readup on myself.
99.9% of problems you have, 1000´s of others have had befor you and there is numerous threads and places to go and read up on them.

Much agreed. I think you have the brain to pull this off. Look at the thousands of posts on how to do this stuff and you will eventually get it going. It all starts with you figuring how to keep at and figure it out. I had no experience at the beginnig and I used Slayers Install just to not screw stuff up. Then I went back and redid it all. Now there is nothing I cant do. All I can suggest is to make all folders and locations in lower case and simple. Then make sure you map all the locations and folder names properly. That is all the XML is really. Telling your player where stuff is. Use this information and you will get it, I promice!!!

Good luck and happy modding.

yeah, i did try to figure it out by myself, and eventually i did last night....read what i said, there's nothing wrong with coming to a forum when ur stuck and need help with something, but don't come here asking for files  cuz ur too lazy to try urself...once again, forums are to fuide ppl in the right direction, not to give them the answer all the time and not have them learn anything, i've learned a lot about the xbox thru trial and error.  if u read the other thread, dday said u can edit xml's with text editors....so i thought, i have xpad, why not rename the xml files to txt, plug in some stuff and try it out.....it took an hour, but i learned how to do it...that's what i'm talking about, don't always take the easy way out
