are all the back slashes omitted from the application locations on purpose?
Or did the board just f*ck up the post?

i get this message when trying to open it in explorer

A name contained an invalid character. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/Documents and Settings/Anthony Bruschi/Desktop/config.xml'. Line 11, Position 17

i have working setup and i get that message when i open
my working config.xml file in windows IE.

i do not have XBOX Media Player.cut in my C:\

i believe it is not needed unless you are using XBMP as dashboard.

if you suspect it as a problem . . . just point the path line to where your default.xbe
resides on your xbox HDD . . .

here is an example only . . .

<path>Harddisk0\Partition1\apps\deafult.xbe</path>

edit XBOX Media Player.cut on PC and the FTP to xbox HDD C:\

I downloaded and had problems with 2.3...Seems to work fine now.
Here's what I did to get it to work.
1. Re-downloaded it from another source, extracted and ftped it to my box. I thought maybe somehow I'd gotten a corrupted file, in retrospect I may have just downloaded a newer version.
2. Editted my XBOX Media Player.cut and placed it on my c: root folder.  According to the manual this step is necessary (http://osdn.dl.sourc...ual2.3.2eng.pdf).
3. Editted the config.xml to reflect my setup.
4. Opened the readme in the dll folder and got the required dll's from the site listed.

It now works great and I'm impressed with the improvements.

bruschijr, has fixed this problem and reported it in another thread
He was just decompressing the files incorrectly.
He was not extracting them the maintaining file folders / file structure.
Just dumping all the files into the root of one folder...

I tried to unplug the cable, and I deleted TDATA and UDATA FOLDERS

Is it ok to do this?   What do these files do?  This is the first post that I've seen that has suggested it.
Thanks for putting this in here.  How did you actually get someone to reply to this.  I've asked the same thing, but to no avail.

also...Try pulling out the ntework cabel and give it a try...... do they mean just pull it out then put it back in???
